Dhamma Pubbananda is pleased to be able to hold courses during this pandemic, although we are operating at a reduced capacity. Currently we can safely accommodate 25 students and 6-7 servers.
We recognize that many of you want to attend courses, and we will continue to do our best to help applicants get into courses. We recommend that you apply for courses as soon as they open on our schedule page at 8:00 am. We expect courses to fill up within 24-48 hours of opening.
Dhamma Pubbananda has been very successful in keeping COVID out of the center with the strict guidelines that have been in place. As the numbers of infections are declining, we are pleased that we can relax some of these restrictions.
Dhamma Pubbananda continues to require all students, servers, and teachers to be vaccinated. We encourage those who are vaccinated, but not yet boosted, to do so if eligible. Additionally, proof of vaccination must be presented during course registration upon arrival.
We regret the inconveniences this may cause, however this change is a reflection of our intention to uphold safety and security for those at Dhamma Pubbananda, given the changing conditions of the pandemic at large. We ask for understanding from those negatively impacted and want everyone to remember that this is a temporary measure. We look forward to a time when this protocol may be relaxed in the future.
Everyone coming will need to fulfill the following requirements:
- A negative rapid antigen test result the day before arriving at the center. Please upload a picture of this test to your enrollment confirmation link found in your acceptance email.
- Students must bring two additional tests for testing on the third day and later if there is an infection.
Masks must be worn in all public spaces, in addition to maintaining social distancing at all times. Students must bring KN95, KF94, N95 or surgical masks only. No cloth masks allowed.
Mask may be removed:
- In your private room
- At your assigned seat in the Dining Hall when eating (must wear mask unless seated and eating/drinking)
- In the meditation cells
Participants may now use public transportation or the ride share board online to travel to the center.
Center management will call each and every student accepted and enrolled for courses about 10 days before the course begins to more fully outline the protocols for being at the center during this time. The most important thing is ensuring that everyone who comes to the Center is healthy.
Because of the evolving pandemic situation, the above guidelines may change at any time. All acceptances to attend a course will be conditional on state and local guidelines, and our ability to provide as safe a setting as possible.
